Ray Kolodziejczyk, Sr., age 89, of New Port Richey, Florida, went to the happy hunting grounds Friday morning, February 23, 2024. He was born April 19, 1934 in Swanton, Ohio to John and Pauline Kolodziejczyk and was the youngest of seven children. Ray served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. After the Army, Ray met the love of his life, Betty Perkins, in 1960 while roller skating at the Swanton Coliseum. They married on July 29, 1961 at St. Richard Catholic Church.
Ray was always finding ways to improve himself and grow. Loyal to his roots, he was a Barber for 27 years and a Realtor for 40 years. Ray was always grateful for all of his devoted hair cutting customers and realtor clients. He was known for enjoying life and making the most fun out of each situation. Ray looked forward to trying new things and was enthralled in every experience. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. He never turned down a game of golf. Ray was always excited to be out on the golf course with his family and friends. He loved spending time on the water with his family and friends. Even at 80 years old Ray continued to water ski, and especially enjoyed the activity with his sons. He looked forward to going to the Fulton County Fair every year with his family. Always a crowd favorite was seeing Ray ride his big wheel bike in the Swanton Parades. Ray always smiled when he heard John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads”.
Left to cherish Ray’s memory are his wife of many happy years, Betty; daughter, Kim; sons, R.J. (Carrie) and Brent (Bonnie); sister, Florence; grandchildren, Patrick (Debbie), Kassie (Travis), Kaylee (Patrick), Aleia, Parris (Tom), Brooks (Travis), Grace and Jack; great-grandchildren, Grant, Gwynie, Lucy, Cade and Carson; sister-in-law, Dorothy and brother-in-law, Louie and many favorite nieces and nephews.
