Richard F. Terlep

Richard Frank Terlep, age 69, of Delta, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family, Saturday afternoon, June 10, 2017. Prior to his retirement he had worked with OSHA and for Owens-Illinois as an Industrial Hygienist.

Richard was born in Downers Grover, Illinois, on December 13, 1947, the son of Fred J. and Ruth (Hunt) Terlep. On June 27, 1970 he married Teresa Osborne, and she survives. He had earned his Bachelor’s Degree from East Tennessee State and his Master Degree in Industrial Hygiene from Wayne State University. He was a member of the Sigma XI Fraternity. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed fishing and almost anything outdoors. He enjoyed going to auctions and collecting antiques, and he loved scrimshawing powder horns.

Surviving besides his wife, Teresa, is his daughter, Meghan Ritz of Lyons; son, Scott Terlep of Delta; granddaughter, Riley Ritz; and sister Pam Twining of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jacob “Rush” Twining; and son-in-law, John Ritz.

Visitation for Richard will be held from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at the Grisier-Weigel Funeral Home in Delta. The memorial service will immediately follow at 7:00 P.M., with Pastor Don Kreiger, officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Richard Terlep Benefit Trust through PNC Bank. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.deltafh.com
