Bobby J. Kennedy

Bobby J. Kennedy, 76 years old, of Lyons, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly in his home, Monday morning, May 23, 2022, while getting ready for work. He was born on July 30, 1945, in Virginia, to John and LuEllen Kennedy. He married the love of his life, Minnie Stevens, on August 24, 1973. She preceded him in death on December 29, 2021.

Bob was a United States Army Veteran of the Armed Forces. He enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and visiting the casinos. He worked for many years in the coal mines of Virginia. Bob had a passion for driving trucks, he was still actively driving for Klumm Brothers.  He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Bob is survived by his daughter Melissa (Terry) Clark and her children, son Brandon Henry and daughter Kellie Henry. His son Matthew (Amy) Kennedy and their family. Also surviving are sisters-in-law; Hattie Robinette, Joyce Stevens, Margie Chapa, Tonia Kennedy; brother-in-law, Cleveland (Shannon) Stevens.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years; his parents; brothers, Donald Kennedy, Johnny Kennedy, Ronnie Kennedy; his sister, Freda Bush; brothers-in-law, James Robinette, Carter Stevens, Fred Stevens; sister-in-law, Joyce Byrd Stevens.

Visitation for Bobby will be Thursday, May 26th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Heather Schimmel officiating. Interment will follow at Lyons Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Lyons Fire Department, 409 East Morenci Street, Lyons, Ohio 43533.
