Robert Lee Silveous

Robert L. Silveous, age 78, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 10, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Sylvania. He was born August 17, 1946, in Rural Carey, Ohio, to Raymond and Minnie (Taft) Silveous, and lived a life filled with adventure and service to his country and community.  Bob married Marcia Kreuz on September 13, 1969, and she preceded him in death on October 23, 2012.

A proud United States Army Vietnam Veteran, Bob served his country from 1964 to 1968. His commitment to service extended beyond his military duty; he was an active member of the VFW Swanton Memorial Post #8598, where he forged lasting friendships and contributed to the community. His love for automobiles led him to join the Swanton Car Club.

Bob was an over-the-road truck driver, a role that allowed him to travel across the country and meet diverse people along the way. His adventurous spirit was reflected not only in his career but also in his hobbies. He enjoyed gambling, bowling, dancing, and roller skating, activities that brought joy and excitement to his life.

He leaves behind his two sons, Troy (Brenda) Silveous and Chris Silveous; grandchildren, Bailey, Matthew, and Damien; his siblings, Dean Silveous, Tom (Fran) Silveous, Roger Silveous, Paul David Silveous, Opal, and Virginia; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides  his beloved wife of 42 years, Marcia, Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, George, Wayne, Chuck and Kenny Silveous.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 16th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where funeral services will begin at 12:00 (Noon). Services will conclude with Military Rites by the Swanton American Legion Honor Guard.  Burial will be held at a later date at St. Richard's Cemetery.
