Robert E. Wilson

Robert "Bob" E. Wilson, age 77, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, April 9, 2016, at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. He was born April 17, 1938 to Elmer and Beatrice Wilson. He was married 45 years to his beloved wife, Priscilla "Perk" (Shelt) Wilson. She preceded him in death on April 16, 2007.

In his younger years, Robert worked at the Swanton Bowling Alley and The Toledo Express Airport as a cook. He was a hard working man and devoted to his family. He worked 25 years at Johns Manville. He then worked as a police officer from 1978-1988 for the Swanton Police Department, and retired from Chrysler Jeep where he worked from 1979-2000. He was a member of Local Union 12 and was an avid Ohio State Fan. He also loved talking on the CB (handle name Night Owl).

Robert will be greatly missed by his children, Robert H. Wilson, Dawn (Eric) Vaculik, James Wilson (Rebecca Diehl) and Steven Wilson (Erin Collins); and his beloved grandchildren, Amanda, Eric John, RJ, Tiffany (Justin) Ranville, Michael, Kristian, Berlyn, Ryan, Tyler, Elizabeth, Tori, Amanda Lee; and great-grandchildren, Elliotte and Leighton. Also surviving are his sisters, Shirley (Richard) Tulk and Betty (Emmett) Aossey; brother-in-law, Mark Boehk; as well as his many nieces and nephews whom he loved.

Besides his wife, Perk, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Boehk; brother, Dick Wilson.

Family and friends may visit Tuesday, April 12th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton (419.826.2631). Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 13th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Springfield Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ebeid Hospice.
