Robin W. Metcalf

Robin W. Metcalf, age 77 , of Swanton, Ohio, formerly of Phoenix, Arizona and California, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 12, 1940 in Cleveland to Ralph and Margaret (Meyer) Walters. Robin married Charles Metcalf on Christmas day in 1975; he preceded her in death in November of 2015. She worked as a probation officer for the Maricopa County Juvenile Probation Department, retiring in 1971.

Robin had a great love for animals, especially horses. She owned and operated Hilyuri Arabians with her husband in Arizona. She trained and raced her Arabian horses and was an active member of the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona. She was active in the Dressage Organization in Swanton after relocation to Ohio in August of 2013. While she was in Arizona she loved to volunteer for many years at the Andre House. Robin was a very faithful active member of St. Richard Catholic Church.

Left to cherish Robin's memory are her sons, Daniel Metcalf of Chatsworth, California, and Michael (Linda) Nippo of Swanton, Ohio; brother, Lane Walters of Prescott, Arizona, and many nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; sister, Dana Walters-Rhodes; and brother, Lorin Walter.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at St. Richard's Cemetery.
