Roger E. Ford
Roger E. Ford, age 56, of Toledo, Ohio, died suddenly while at work, Monday morning, December 4, 2017, of an aortic aneurysm. He was born April 16, 1961 in Campbellsville, Kentucky to Gladys (Keltner) and Donald Ford. Roger was a graduate of Campbellsville High School and married Cathy Brewer. Even though they later divorced, they remained close friends.
Roger moved to Toledo in July of 1996 and worked for his uncle driving truck. In June of 2000, he began working for Cavins Trucking Company in Perrysburg, Ohio. He had a passion for driving truck. He was a very dependable driver with no safety violations throughout his career. However, his greatest passion was his trust in God as his Savior. He was a member of the Swanton Baptist Church.
He will be greatly missed by his co-workers and friends; his church family; his ex-wife, Cathy Budd; his girlfriend, Dora Friesner; and most of all the light of his life and special Goddaughter, Rylie Budd, with whom he had such an unbreakable bond with.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents.

Although I only had the pleasure of knowing Roger for about 3 years, during that time I instantly knew what kind of a person he was. A kind loving man that always put others before himself. I guess that's the definition of a true Christian. I would meet him every day in Hurricane WV, halfway between Charlotte and Toledo, and every day he would have a smile on his face. A professional driver in every sense of the word. You were taken from us way too soon buddy and you will be missed by all that knew you.

My husband worked the truck that met Roger in Hurricane WV. I had the pleasure of meeting Roger only once, but we talked on the phone on many occassions. He was truly sweet and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was dependable and hard working. My husband always said that Roger made his job so much easier because he could be counted on to be there, day in and day out, rain or shine. If my husband missed work (a rarity) Roger would call to check in on him and to say "get back to work soon" because he appreciated how hard working my husband was. They made a great team. Roger will be missed. He left this Earth much too young. Rest in peace. Condolences to family and friends.

To the family of Roger Ford, Our deepest condolences to you. May God be with you as you endure this difficult time. Roger was a super truck driver and a shining star for Rocky Cavins Trucking and FedEx Ground. He took a lot of pride in his job and was a pleasure to work with. I am the contractor for the truck that met Roger every day in Hurricane, WV. I didn't get to see him every day, only on days that the my driver was out of work and I never beat him to the meet point in Hurricane. He was always sitting there when I arrived. It is very unusual today to have a driver who is that prompt. I'm sure he will be greatly missed and I pray that God will comfort you as you mourn his passing.
