Ronald Ray Bostelman

April 7, 1950 — December 31, 2022

Ronald Ray Bostelman, age 72, of Toledo, Ohio, formerly of Grand Rapids, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, December 31, 2022, at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, with his loving family at his bedside.  Ron was born April 7, 1950 in Toledo, Ohio to Carl “Jack” Bostelman and Betty (Vollmar) Box.  Ron was a 1970 graduate of Otsego High School, and on July 19, 1975, married his beloved wife, Linda Dillon.  Ron worked as a kitchen cabinet maker for Dold Homes.

Ron was an avid golfer and member of Sons of the American Legion Alva N. Sidle Grand Rapids Post #232.  He served 10 years on the Grand Rapids Fire Department and 10 years on the Neapolis Fire Department.

Ron and Linda were married for 47 years and raised their three daughters. Over the years, they enjoyed traveling to campgrounds, and spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The joy of camping every year with their family turned into a permanent lot at Sunny’s campground in 2005. Every season spent at Sunny’s was filled with making new friends, rounds of golf at the golf course, and weekends spent around the fire with their camper family.

Left to cherish Ron’s memory is his loving and devoted wife, Linda; his mother, Betty Box; daughters, Kathy Bostelman, Kimberly (Matthew) Bryan and Stacy (Daniel) Smith; 6 grandchildren, Kelsea (Daniel) Silette, Tyler (Enerina) Smith, Austin (Lily) Smith, Sydni (Jacob) Smith, Lilli Smith and Kamden Vasvery; 3 step-grandchildren, Kelsey, Alex and Braylen Bryan; 5 great-grandchildren, Isabella, Peyton, Exavier, Xavion and Zariyah; his twin brother, Donald (Diane) Bostelman and brother, Roger (Kitty) Bostelman; sister-in-law, Sandy Bostelman; as well as many nieces and nephews and four legged companions Bear and Moe.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Jack; brother, Terry Bostelman and mother and father-in-law, Priscilla and Norm Dillon.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 4th from 5 to 7 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where a Fireman’s Last Alarm service will begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 5th at 11:00 am in the funeral home, with Pastor Justin McCall officiating.

To honor Ron, his family has decided to raise funds for his wife, Linda Bostelman to continue his legacy at Sunny’s campground for their 17th season camping.
