Roy L. Fry passed away on June 12, 2023, at age 87. He had been in declining health for several years.
Roy’s parents were Gearhart and Pauline (Steffes) Fry and lived in Edon, Ohio where Roy attended high school and graduated in 1954. He enjoyed being with his classmates at the reunions.
On June 25, 1956, he married Peggy Everetts and lived in Edon, Ohio for 14 years. They had three children, Pamela, Anthony and David. Then they all moved to Swanton, Ohio in 1970 and became members of St. Richard Catholic Church.
Roy was a farmer and truck driver with many stories to tell about each job.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Pamela; brothers, Paul and Carl; and great-grandson, Noah.
Surviving is his wife, Peggy; sons, Anthony Fry and David (Lorri) Fry; grandchildren, Jason Fry and Danielle (Brandon) Fry; great-grandchildren, Madisyn, Malerri, Makenna, Isaiah and Abigail; special extended family, Jim and Kym Kurtz; brothers, Virgil and Alfred (Mary Ellen) Fry; and in-laws, Buzz and Margaret Everetts, Kay (Dennis) Fee, Ted Everetts, and Mary Ida Fry.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 14th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where a Vigil Service will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue Thursday, June 15th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Richard Catholic Church, 333 Brookside Dr. in Swanton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am, with Fr. Eric Culler presiding. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm at Blakeslee Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or St. Richard Catholic Church.
