Sharon Lee Osborn

Sharon Lee (Dixon) Osborn, age 72, of Holland, Ohio, passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 at St. Anne Mercy Hospital. She was born February 5, 1943 in Swanton, Ohio to Willard and Marguerite (Mohr) Dixon. Sharon was a 1961 graduate of Swanton High School and obtained a business degree from BGSU.

She worked as a dispatcher/supervisor for the St. Petersburg Police Department in St. Petersburg, Florida, retiring in 1989. She moved back to Northwest Ohio and was a dispatcher for the Lucas County Sheriff's office, retiring in 1999. Sharon wasn't content sitting back and enjoying retirement, so she decided to go to work at the Bowling Green Walmart. It was only supposed to be a part-time job, however, quickly turned into full-time work as a service writer.

Sharon was a member of the Grand Rapids American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Grand Rapids Sportsman Club, Bowling Green Eagles and Maumee Elks. When she wasn't working or involved in civic activities, she enjoyed golfing and most of all following her granddaughter, BayLee, to watch her play in sporting events.

Sharon will be greatly missed by her daughter, TyLynn Osborn (Brian); granddaughter, BayLee Osborn; sister-in-law, Judy Dixon; nephew, Todd Dixon; niece, Tonya (Joel) Figmaka; her best friend, Linda Mathes; as well as numerous cousins, and of course, her fur grandbabies, Bella and Henry.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Marguerite, and brother, Ron Dixon.

Family and friends may visit Wednesday, January 20th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ed Strietelmeier officiating. Interment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital for Cancer Research or the Lucas County Humane Society.
