Shirley E. Ervin

July 21, 1932 — May 4, 2015

Shirley E. Ervin, age 82, of Swanton, Ohio, entered into eternal life, Monday, May 4, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 21, 1932 in Aurora, Illinois to Anthony and Grace (Yates) Hoffman. She married Clarence Joseph Ervin, who preceded her in death on February 27, 2007. Shirley was owner and operator of a construction cleaning company for 30 years and was a faithful member of St. Richard Catholic Parish.

Shirley loved spending time with her family. Left to cherish her memory are her 5 children; Lance (Lisa) Ervin of Georgetown, KY, Cindy (Glenn) Flakenberg of Lancaster, CA, Karl Ervin of Holt, MI, Sherry (Lafayette) Hopkins of Swanton, OH, and Toni Ervin of Iron Station, NC; daughter-in-law, Debbie Ervin of Clyde, MI; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Itil-Perry of Holland, OH; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Colvin of Washington, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Clarence, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; son, Vint Ervin; and sister, Joann Snyder.

Family and friends may visit Friday, May 8th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631). Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9th at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Deacon Jerry Ziemkiewicz officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in St. Richard’s Memorial Garden.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Visitation: Friday, May 8th from 5 to 8 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton

Funeral Service: Saturday, May 9th at 2:00 pm in the Funeral Home

Interment at a Later Date: St. Richard's Memorial Garden
