Shirley May McMillen, age 76, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home at 10:02 a.m. Sunday morning, February 1, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. She was born, September 4, 1932 in Chesterfield Township, to Lyman and Alice (Meyers) Barnhart.

On July 4, 1963, she married Richard Charles “Mack” McMillen in Trilby, Washington Township. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2006. Shirley worked at J & L Steel, worked as a waitress for several area restaurants, and helped her husband with his painting business.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Thomas) Reneau of Toledo, OH; 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; great-great grandson, Sport; sisters, Pauline Wood and Betty (Alfred) Smith, both of Adrian, MI; brother, Ralph (Pat) Barnhart of Toledo, OH, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by her parents, and 10 brothers and sisters.

Friends and family may visit Wednesday, February 4th from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419-826-2631), where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 5th. Pastor Mike Brewer will officiate. Interment will follow at Lyons Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
