Stephen D. Spengler

Stephen D. Spengler, 69, died unexpectedly, December 5, 2020. Steve grew up in Swanton, Ohio, but made his home in Lake Placid, Florida. His parents Wayne and Isabelle Spengler of Swanton are deceased, as are his brothers, Danny and Gregory and brother-in-law, Donald Bettinger.

When back from Florida visiting, Steve always enjoyed catching up with his friends at the Swanton American Legion. He was a member of the Lake Placid Moose Lodge and American Legion, and loved hanging out with friends and fishing. He adored his Ohio and Indiana family and made annual trips back to spend time with them. Steve was a caring man and a super dad, grandfather, brother, son and friend. He will be truly missed.

Surviving Steve is his daughter, Karla (John) Fisher of Columbia City, Indiana; grandchildren, Ryan Cotter and Josie and Grant (Jo Elle) Fisher; great-grandchildren, Zaine, Milayna and Vera Fisher; as well as his sister, Jacque Bettinger and her children, Renee and (Matt) Myers, Scott and (Lisa) Bettinger and Chad and (Rosalyn) Bettinger; Steve's brother, John and Sandy Spengler of Pettisville, OH and their children, Kristen and (Phil) Rupp and Jeanette and (Jim) Smith.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 28th at 11:30 a.m. at the Swanton Cemetery~Centerville Road.
