Teresa Rose Thompson

Teresa Rose Thompson, age 83, previously a resident of Blissfield, Michigan, passed away Friday afternoon, May 21, 2021 at The Grove at Oakleaf Village in Toledo. She was born March 5, 1938 in Metamora, Ohio to Frank Komon and Irene (Gillen) Komon. Teresa married Melvin “Mick” Thompson on August 7, 1975. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2018.

She owned and operated Teresa’s Upholstery in Metamora, Ohio. Teresa was an amazing cook. She even wrote two cookbooks so that her recipes could be shared and live on. Teresa loved being active and tending to her garden. When she wasn’t gardening, she looked forward to what new treasures she might discover at garage sales. Teresa was also very adventurous and traveled to all 50 states.

Teresa is survived by her son, Robert (Nancy) Hejl; daughter, Rose (Karen Johnson) Hejl; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several siblings; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Teresa was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mick; her parents; her two sons, Michael Hejl and James Hejl.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 25th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, where funeral services will begin at 12:00 (Noon), with Pastor Annette Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Riga Township Cemetery.
