Thelma Marie Ley

Graveside Services: Friday, September 30th at 2:00 pm at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park

Thelma Marie Ley, age 71, of Delta, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 26, 2016, in the emergency room at the Fulton County Health Center. She was born July 2, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio to Richard and Marie (Hardy) Johnson. Thelma was a 1963 graduate of Waite High School and attended Mary Manse College in Toledo. On November 7, 1964, she married her beloved husband, Tommy Ley, Sr. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2016.

Thelma was an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Toledo. She supported her children as they were growing up in their sporting events and coached softball. Thelma enjoyed gardening, bird watching, fishing and taking walks through Oak Openings. She was an avid Ohio State football fan, and most of all loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Thelma will be greatly missed by her children, Tommy (Denise) Ley, Tonnie (Darvellio) Jimenez, Telly (Chuck) Seel and Toby (Michele) Ley; grandchildren, Sidney, Tasha, Hailey, Tyra, Brady, Tess, Clayton, Tyler and Chase; her sisters, Carol White, Pam (Lupe) Silva and Linda Foster; sister-in-law, Sandy Johnson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Tommy, Thelma was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenny.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, September 29th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631). Visitation will continue Friday, September 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 611 Woodville Rd., Toledo, OH 43605, where services celebrating her life will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Beth Giller officiating. Following a luncheon, graveside services will commence at 2:00 p.m. at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
