Theresa C. Farnsel, age 97, a life-long resident of Metamora, Ohio, entered into eternal life, with her daughters at her bedside, Wednesday morning, February 25, 2026, at Lakes of Sylvania. Theresa was born July 3, 1928 in Metamora to George and Agnes (Gerten) Jacob. A graduate of Metamora High School, Theresa married Wayne J. Farnsel on November 22, 1952. He preceded her in death on July 29, 2014.
Theresa was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, and member of the Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary Post #306 in Assumption.
She devoted 61 years to her career as a beautician, proudly owning and operating Theresa's Kut and Kurl in Metamora, Ohio, where she not only styled hair but built lasting relationships within the community. Theresa loved playing softball in her youth and took great pride in being a member of the Metamora team that won the 1946 State Championship. She bowled for more than 50 years, enjoyed playing cards, and was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers.
Theresa is survived by her loving daughters, Lynette M. (Steve) Schmitz of Lyons, OH and Lee Ann Miller (William Rufenacht) of Metamora, OH; 6 grandchildren, Sam (Kelli) Schmitz, Stephanie (Greg) Meyer, Stacie (Scott) Westbrook, Brooks (Gretchen) Miller, Brittaney (Mark) Cymbolin and Brett (Kristina) Miller; 19 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Lauren, Madysen, Kendra, Gavin, Sophia, Chet, Phoebe, Easten, Maryn, Hayden, Hope, Hudson, Champ, Jordan, Bristol, Charlotte and Taylor; and 3 great-great-grandchildren, Tinley, Harvey and Nellie.
In addition to her beloved husband of 61 years, Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Lennis Jacob; sisters, Ihla Kruez and Hilda Snyder and her son-in-law, Chris Miller.
Family and friends may visit Saturday, March 14th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Jeremy Miller presiding. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CWV Ladies Auxiliary Post #306 or Holy Trinity Church.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Lakes of Sylvania for the wonderful care they provided Theresa.
