Thomas R. Wallace, age 82, of Swanton, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 11, 2023. He was born April 20, 1940 of humble beginnings in Ethridge, Tennessee to Edward and Ruth (Farris) Wallace.
Tom owed his long life to the love and care from his devoted wife of 60 years, Janice (Livings) Wallace. They met at his sister’s house where she was babysitting. They had a long distance courtship with several years of love letters.
Tom was a prolific artist and his paintings, carvings and drawings are cherished by the family. He has a legacy of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who share his love and talent for art. He retired as a board artist for Sun Chemical.
Tom had the softest of hearts showing an appreciation for all living things. He had many spoiled pets and rescue animals. He loved fishing and watching and feeding the wildlife that visited his home. Tom loved telling jokes and teasing, and will be remembered for his welcoming smile and frequent laughter.
He leaves behind his wife, Janice; son, Todd (Connie) Wallace and daughter, Deanna (Bill) Foster; grandchildren, Cory (Erin) Wallace, Kaitlin Wallace, Logan (Cody) Kaiser and Audra (Jacob) Foster; great-grandchildren, Sirion and Xander Wallace and Leanna and Eleanor Kaiser.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ruth Wallace; his siblings, Bobby (Barb) Wallace, Shirley Robinson and Linda (Gary) Edwards.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 15th from 3 to 7 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 16th 11:00 am in the funeral home, with Pastor Justin McCall officiating. Interment will follow at Swanton Cemetery.
