Val C. Benner

Val C. Benner, age 53, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away in his home, Wednesday, July 27, 2022. He was born May 3, 1969 in Detroit, Michigan. Val married Kathy Lynn Dewey on June 30, 2001.

Val worked as a Journeyman Lineman for Local 245 for 35 years. He traveled all over the country for work, training several lineman and served as a foreman. Known for his strong work ethic, Val was heavily relied upon and respected throughout the trade. Val looked forward to the summer when he could be out riding his Harley, and the fall season when he could be outside deer hunting.

Val is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 22 years, Kathy; his son, Casey Benner; parents Theodore and Mariam Benner, four legged companion, Scooter and four legged “granddaughter”, Raven.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, August 4^th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where services will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Temperance VFW Post or St. Michael’s Church.
