Verna Mae (Bratton) Keough, age 96, of Delta, Ohio, a cherished mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully Friday morning, April 24, 2026, at her son’s home in Temperance, Michigan. Born on February 1, 1930, in Delta, Ohio, Verna’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and family devotion.
A graduate of Delta High School, Verna’s journey was marked by steadfast commitment and hard work, exemplified by her remarkable 40-year career at the Ackelin Stamping Plant in Toledo. Her dedication to her work was only overshadowed by the immense joy she found in her family, with whom she shared her heart and home throughout her life.
Verna was a woman who found delight in the simple pleasures—she loved spending the winters in Florida, a retreat that refreshed her spirit year after year. She was always eager for a night out to eat and had a particular fondness for shrimp.
Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren. Verna devoted her life to being a grandmother, nurturing and supporting an expansive and loving legacy. She is survived by her children, Sandra (Ken) Noaker, Sharon (Warren) Rasey, Steve (Sharon) Keough, Kathleen Keough, Nancy (Terry) Gee, and Christine (Kenny) Nycum. Her family blossomed further with 36 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her spirit and kindness.
Verna was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys G. Bratton, her son Ronald Keough, and her daughter Darlene Keough.
