William "Bill" Stukey, age 85, longtime resident of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 22, 2019 at the University of Michigan Metro Health Center in Wyoming, Michigan. He was born October 20, 1933 in Genoa, Ohio to Everell Glenn and Elizabeth (Foust) Stukey. On June 10, 1972 he married Marlyn Christy.
Bill served this country in the U.S. Army. He was a builder, especially of people, throughout his career as supervisor and plant manager at the Little Dude Trailer Co. (Delta Oh.) and also Gendron Inc. (Archbold Oh.), retiring in 1997. He enjoyed woodworking, Ohio State Football, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Besides his loving wife of 46 years, Marlyn; Bill is survived by his son, Jeffrey Stukey; granddaughters, Alisha, Arianna and Adalynn Stukey; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Vantil, Mary Underwood, Dorothy Slemp and Carole Hahn.
Family and friends may visit Friday, January 25th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, in Swanton (419.826.2631). Visitation will continue Saturday, January 26th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Swanton Nazarene Church, where service celebrating his life will begin at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Harold Ratliff officiating. Interment, with Military Rites, will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.
