William Stuart Smith, born February 14, 1963 (61), unexpectedly passed away at his home in Swanton, Ohio on April 16, 2024.
Our Bill was born in Pendleton, England and was raised in England until the age of 12. He then moved to Pleasant View, Utah with his family where he grew up. In 2000, he moved to Fort Wayne, IN with his wife and kids. In 2012 he moved his family to Swanton, Ohio where they settled until he reunited with his heavenly family. Our Beloved Bill will be so missed.
Our Bill graduated from Weber High School in 1981 and continued his education, graduating with an Associate’s degree in business at ITT Technical Institute. He spent his career in leadership in various manufacturing settings until his retirement in 2023.
Bill married the love of his life, Billie Jo Smith (BJ), in Ogden, Utah in 1996. Together, they shared 30 years of profound love, life, family and adventure.
Bill was an avid soccer player in high school and continued to love the sport throughout his life. He never missed a Manchester City game if he could help it. Bill also loved the Buffalo Bills, camping, music, and spending time with his family. Bill was a doting husband and father, who lived his entire life for his wife and family. His smile, his laugh and his charming personality are things he will always be remembered for. He was loved by all who knew him and known for his kind and gentle spirit. Our Bill had a knack for nicknaming everyone in the family, and those nicknames have become our families terms of endearment for eachother.
Bill is mourned by his sweet wife, BJ, and five amazing children: William Lucas Taylor Smith, Shay Leigh Powers, Joshua Clark Poulsen (Katelyn), Zackary Wayne Poulsen (Shannon), Chealsy Lynn Poulsen and eight beautiful grandchildren.
A private service was held for immediate family. This was our Bill’s wish. A celebration of life will be held later in the year.
